Course Overview

Each year, hundreds of thousands of international students come to the US to pursue their academic studies. Because English is not their native language, these students are required to demonstrate competency in listening, grammar, reading, and writing by taking the TOEFL test. The test is administered by the Educational Testing Service of Princeton, New Jersey. In 2002-2003, over 1.2 million test-takers from all over the world took the TOEFL test. A suitable TOEFL score is a requirement to being admitted to graduate or undergraduate programs at almost all colleges and universities in North America. With that in mind, this course was designed to help international students achieve the necessary TOEFL score to pursue their chosen future. The premise is that the TOEFL test - being extremely important to an international student's future success - needs to be studied earnestly and conscientiously. Given the breath and difficulty of the course to many, those who fail to meet the course (as well as their own personal) objectives are strongly recommended to opt for re-enrollment the following month.
